Miguel Pinto Luz is the Deputy Mayor of Cascais and Deputy Chairman of the Regional Tourism Entity of Lisbon. He graduated from Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) in Computers and Electrical Engineering in the year 2000 and went on to further develop his academic and research career. Pinto Luz obtained a master’s degree in Computer Networks at the same University, where he lectured on several undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses. He was also a researcher of the information systems group (GSI) at the Institute of Systems and Computer Engineering (INESC-ID Lisboa) until 2005.
In 2012, Pinto Luz completed his MBA at AESE Business School/IESE of the University of Navarra. During his academic career, he also attended several international schools such as the Harvard Kennedy School (USA), the Indian Institute of Management (India), the Ross School of Business of the University of Michigan (USA) and IESE Business School of the University of Navarra (Spain). He is currently developing his PhD at Rotterdam School of Management of the Erasmus University (Netherlands).
In 2005, he became Adjunct of the Deputy Mayor of Cascais, being responsible for several agencies and companies of the Municipal Council of Cascais, while administrating Casa das Histórias Paula Rego. Miguel Pinto Luz was appointed Secretary of State for Infrastructures, Transport and Communications of the XX Constitutional Government of Portugal in 2015 and was President of the Social Democratic Party of Lisbon during that same time.
