Nicola Schiess Schmitz boasts a diverse educational background, having pursued studies in business administration, hotel and tourism, creative leadership, talent attraction, and music/musicology. Her academic journey spans prestigious institutions worldwide, including the University of Cape Town in South Africa, Sorbonne University in Paris, the National University of Cuyo in Mendoza, Duale Hochschule in Ravensburg Germany, Kaospilot in Denmark, and Future Place Leadership in Sweden.
For over two decades, Nicola has been at the helm of the Teatro del Lago Foundation, an organization celebrated for its educational mission and significant social impact. In addition, she is founder of the School and LAB Kopernikus, a pioneering educational initiative that has been featured in numerous books and studies, including those by Harvard University, Bill Lucas and in a French documentary. Kopernikus stands out as a constant source of inspiration for educators and institutions globally.
Throughout her career in Chile, Nicola has been the recipient of numerous accolades, including the Innovation Prize (2007), the Community Work Prize (2014), recognition as a Woman of Impact (2015), and being named one of the 100 Leading Women in Business and Society in multiple years (2007, 2008, 2010, 2016, and 2019).
