Sulaiman Mahzan is currently a senior lecturer specializing in Artificial Intelligence at the College of Computing, Informatics, and Mathematics, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Melaka, Malaysia. He has experience teaching and lecturing in various educational institutions before joining UiTM Melaka in 2011.

While studying as an undergraduate at Universiti Utara Malaysia, he served as project director for an intensive computer programming class program that he initiated, benefiting 500 students at Universiti Utara Malaysia in 2003–2004. Additionally, he was actively involved in volunteering for human development and leadership programs from 2002 to 2004, which reached over 3,000 participants—mainly children and teenagers from across Malaysia. His contributions have continued throughout his career, with involvement in numerous programs related to human development, leadership, innovation, ICT, AI, democratic empowerment, talent and career advancement, and social services for teenagers, university students, and communities, impacting more than 20,000 participants to date. Recently, he also served as an MCMC Microsoft AI Teach trainer for the community in the state of Melaka, Malaysia.

His deep interest in innovation has led him to participate in over 110 innovation projects and earn 116 awards nationally and internationally since 2008. He was appointed as a Member of the Post-Exco Meeting for the Science and Technology Cluster for the state of Melaka government, and he served as an Advisory Panel in the Unit of Research and Innovation at the Chief Minister’s Department of Melaka from 2015 to 2018. In 2018, he was honored as the Icon of Science for National Science Month at the state level in Melaka, Malaysia. He also received a special award from the Unit of Research and Innovation at the Chief Minister’s Department of Melaka in 2016.

Thanks to his expertise, he has been appointed as a judge in over 170 competitions, both in Malaysia and internationally since 2013. He also serves as one of the judges for the reality TV program Innovathon on ASTRO Channel for its first (2023) and second (2024) seasons. Currently, he remains actively engaged in mobilizing talent development programs in innovation, particularly in AI and ICT, for the community.
