Sherry sets the organisation-wide communications strategy for SEforALL focusing on stakeholder engagement and showcasing impact aimed at mobilizing resources and commitments for SDG7 and energy transitions. Her team is responsible for creating compelling narratives and working with governments, civil society, and other partners to build a global movement at the intersection of energy, climate and development that drives action and ambition toward a more sustainable energy future for all.
Sherry joined SEforALL in 2021 after 11 years as Head of Communications with the African Trade Insurance Agency in Nairobi, Kenya, where she worked with the private sector and governments across Africa, Europe and Asia to promote Africa as a viable investment destination . Prior to this, Sherry was based in Washington, DC where she worked for the Asian Development Bank as the External Relations Officer for North America working with both the US and Canadian governments and their private sector to garner support and to showcase opportunities in the Bank . Sherry also worked at the World Bank as a Communications Officer.
She is a native of Toronto, Canada with over 20 years of experience in brand management, media relations, marketing and international development communications working. She holds a BA (Honours) in Sociology from Queen’s University and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario, Canada, and a second Master’s degree in Public Communications from American University in Maryland, USA.
She has also served as the Vice President of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Washington, DC and as a Board Director for the IABC global body.
