Andreu Vea is a well-known internet pioneer and entrepreneur in Spain. He founded the 4th ISP in 1994 and later led the internet strategy for Retevision-Auna, the second Spanish national telecom carrier, which helped break Telefonica's monopoly in 1998. He played a key role in launching their ISP, the revolutionary Free Access, and the Flat Rate, which doubled the market in less than a year.

Andreu is a Telecom Engineer, Electronic Engineer, and holds the first Ph.D. dissertation (2002) focused on the Internet. His research attracted the attention of Vint Cerf (the father of the internet), who encouraged him to continue his work at Stanford in 2003.

Since then, Andreu has been an Invited Scholar at Stanford University, where he has focused on identifying internet pioneers around the world. His program has been internationally recognized by ISOC (the Internet Society), which has supported his efforts since 2007.

Andreu Vea has contributed to or founded several internet-related organizations, including www.espanix.net, www.catnix.net, and www.isoc-es.org. He has also served on multiple steering committees, including the Internet Global Congress and ISOC.

Currently, he is the International Relations and Networking Director at La Salle Innovation Park in Spain.
