Chiranthi Balapatabendi is currently working as the Director Technology Industry Development at ICT Agency of Sri Lanka. While her career spans over 25 years, her forte has been Trade Development and Investment. She has over 10 years of experience in International Business Development and Foreign Direct Investment. She has worked at the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, British High Commission and the Canadian High Commission in the areas of Trade Development. Her final place of work was CHEC Port City Colombo (Pvt) Ltd prior to taking on this role at ICTA.

She has a MBA from University of Wales and has completed her Masters in International Relations offered by the University of Colombo. She is a Chartered Marketeer.
