Giorgi Chakvetadze is a Head of State Budget Analysis unit at State Audit office of Georgia. He is experienced in budget and fiscal policy analysis and performance auditing. Giorgi is an author of innovative ICT tool - Budget Monitor, which aims to increase citizen oversight and enhance public control on the usage of taxpayers' resources. Platform has won World Summit Award in the category of Government & Citizen Engagement in 2017.
Giorgi has successfully managed several data-driven projects in the office, such as project in collaboration with the World Bank - Making Big Data Work for Governance. In addition, he has lead the implementation of Business Intelligence (BI) software for budget analysis, automation of public servants’ remuneration analysis, development of prediction model for auditing to detect deficiencies using machine learning and etc.
Giorgi holds MA degree in economics from the International School of Economics at Tbilisi State University (ISET). He has obtained Data Science Professional Certification from HarvardX and Data Science for Executives Certification from Columbia University. Giorgi has written several publications and better practice guidelines about Public Finance Management.
