Born in Porto in 1972. Degree in management by Católica University in 95 and master in New Ventures by California State University in 99, Marco Espinheira is a serial entrepreneur and creative explorer. He founded several companies in the communication, advertisement, technology and cultural sectors. His main areas of intervention are business development, strategic and innovation management. He was responsible for creating and manage the first European digital film festival, consulted regularly for several organizations on communication, cultural and innovation strategy, such as Câmara Municipal de Cascais, Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa and Banco de Inovação Social.
He was responsible for the coordination of economic and cultural diplomacy in Camões, IP – Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in charge of redesigning the cultural and educational international network. He Lectures on entrepreneurship, cultural entrepreneurship and the relation between culture and business. Among others, he is on the consultative committee of IPDAL, AGAVI and ILC and he is also Belize Honorary consul in Portugal.
Since 2014 Marco Espinheira has been Head of Future at the Cascais City Hall, in charge of communication, innovation, information technology, culture, heritage, citizenship, talent, youth, sports, strategic planning and smart cities.
