I believe in people – they helped me evolve; working with individuals from different walks of life, understanding their perspective and to see the world through their eyes – its fascinating - it makes you humane. WSA 2017 was definitely an opportunity for many of us in more ways than one.
Peumi works with teams in emerging industries to build brands that address the needs of tomorrow. From travel and tourism, apparel, transportation, education to agriculture, she has developed a skill set and exudes the kind of passion that can energise the innovation ecosystem in Sri Lanka.
Working in multidisciplinary fields, Peumi’s networking and communication skills have empowered people, brands and start-ups to gain momentum and market share in multi-industries and even around the world. She plays an integral role in marketing and sales, product strategy, and works closely with development teams to bring products to market.
Peumi was also a key facilitator in taking local brands to the international arena, winning awards at PATA Sustainable and Social Responsibility Awards, Brand Excellence Awards and World Summit Awards. Her work also contributed to the first conservation research on Leopards and Elephants and public science research on Blue Whales in Sri Lanka, facilitated by a leading hotel chain, and many other corporate social and sustainability initiatives involving the wider community, to develop business models that encourage shared economies.
Peumi holds a master’s in business administration from the University of Ballarat Australia and is also a member of the Charted Institute of Marketing, UK.
