Sandra Fazenda Almeida is the Executive Director of APDC - Portuguese Association for the Communications Development. The mission of APDC is to reflect, debate and disseminate the problems of communications, information technology and new media, promoting ideas and initiatives that favor the development of these sectors.

 

She is a doctoral student in Tourism at the University of Aveiro, having completed the curricular phase of the Master in Tourism Management and Development at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Algarve. She has a degree in Tourism - Marketing, from the University of Algarve, and has done the 2nd year at the University of Wales - Cardiff. She also carried out several training courses in the area of management, and holds the title of “Specialist in Tourism and Leisure”.

 

Sandra has extensive experience in Executive functions and management of organizations and projects. She was Director of BTL – the biggest tourism exhibition of Portugal. Later, in Turismo de Portugal, I.P., she was director of the School of Hospitality and Tourism of Santa Maria da Feira. She was also Executive Director of Talents4Cruising, a private placement agency specialized in the tourism sector, a project she has embraced since its inception.

 

Her professional experience has also been marked by a remarkable experience in strategic and business consulting, having developed this activity for companies and organizations from several countries, namely the UK (where she lived), Brazil, Angola, Cape Verde and Portugal.

 

Prior to joining APDC, she was Senior Advisor to the Administration of AHRESP, Portugal's largest business association and a reference institution in the defense of the interests of companies in the Tourism, Hospitality and Catering sector.

 

In parallel, she has worked as a teacher in higher education.
