Tim Curtis is a seasoned expert in the field of culture and sustainable development, with over 25 years of experience in diverse international contexts, 20 of which were spent at UNESCO. From 2004 to 2016, he served as a UNESCO Programme Specialist for Culture in both East Africa and Southeast Asia, contributing to numerous cultural and development initiatives across the regions.

Before his work at UNESCO, Tim Curtis was deeply involved in advocacy and academic research. He earned a PhD in Cultural Anthropology from the Research School of Pacific and Asian Studies at the Australian National University. His research focused on the relationship between oral history and place among the Na’hai speakers of Malakula, Republic of Vanuatu.

Tim's extensive career has made him a respected figure in the integration of culture and sustainable development on the global stage.
