Flight across the Atlantic

11 Sustainable cities and communities

“Flight across the Atlantic” is an interactive educational game about two Lithuanian heroes - pilots Steponas Darius and Stasys Girėnas - who, in 1933, decided to cross the Atlantic ocean on plane called Lituanica by having an uninterrupted flight from New York City to Kaunas. It provides a unique way for people to experience their history and culture through small, but rich interactive stories. Having that in mind, the “Flight across the Atlantic” employed game development methods to present history in a modern way. Players become a part of all preparation and flight, gaining a new knowledge during the process.

This product is a great example how the history can be presented to children and adults in a way that captures imagination, touches hearts and gives lots of new information in the process, about national history and cultural heritage.
