Jumièges 3D

Jumieges 3d is a new and innovative way of visiting the Abbey. Today, the nicest ruin in France, as Victor Hugo said, is open to the public. Highly romantic as a ruin, it is quite hard to imagine the greatness and impressive size of the site before its destruction during the French revolution. Jumieges 3D experience proposes to the public a new spectacular way of visiting the site: the opportunity to superimpose thanks to an iPad the abbey as it was in 5 different periods of its construction, thanks to augmented reality. Mobile augmented reality, on site or through a free of charge app, on mobiles and tablets, drive the visitor into the glorious past of the Abbey, from the 9th to the 18th Century, on 4 different Points of Interest, the 3d reconstitution being linked to more classical audio or video cultural content. This application, on place since September 2012, has already been downloaded thousands of time and meets a great succes on site.
