RoadPlus is transforming road maintenance and civic engagement in Sarawak, Malaysia by turning everyday citizens into “Road Warriors.” Using an AI-powered mobile app, the platform detects road defects and sends data to a central analytics system, enabling authorities to prioritize repairs, reduce costs, and ensure safer travel for over 120,000 rural residents. Beyond road safety, RoadPlus creates digital livelihoods, engages women and homemakers in AI training, and integrates smart city features like emergency vehicle pre-emption and traffic optimization. By combining crowdsourcing, AI, and government collaboration, RoadPlus sets a new standard for transparent, efficient, and community-driven infrastructure management.
