General guidelines

Please read this section carefully before applying!

  • Please be short and precise and make your digital solution easy to understand. Avoid long sentences and complicated technical terms.
  • Please fill in your application only in ENGLISH.
  • Please make sure that the website link to your solution works, and the contact e-mail is active and regularly checked.
  • Please be aware that an international jury is evaluating your solution. E.g. if your project cannot be downloaded from the Play Store in some countries, please make sure that you give enough information, and a comprehensive presentation for the Jury, so that they can evaluate even without downloading the application.
  • For easier structuring and to avoid network issues, we advise to first complete your application in the Word template and then copy-paste it to the database.
  • WSA tries to keep the application short – we advise you to fill in all fields,even the ones that are not obligatory.
  • By submitting a solution, producers accept the Rules and Conditions of the WSA contest. Please read them carefully before applying.

Do you have an explanatory video about your solution?

  • Provide a short, high-resolution video about your digital solution. The video should offer a concise and clear overview, helping jury members understand your innovation before reviewing the text. This isn't mandatory but is highly recommended.
  • The video can be a marketing video you already have, or a simple recording of a team member explaining or demonstrating how the solution works.
  • If the video is not in English, add English subtitles.

Short Description of Your Digital Solution

  • Write a brief 2-3 sentence description that gives the jury a good summary about your solution, its purpose, and the problem it addresses. This summary will also be used for PR, social media, and the WSA website.

Problem and Solution

  • Clearly describe the local issue your solution addresses. Explain why your solution is relevant to your local area and highlight the specific circumstances to help the international jury understand its significance.
  • Describe the key elements of the solution, and how the features of your solution address the issue. Provide comprehensive details on the results it aims to achieve.

Competition and Target Group

  • Identify and describe your competitors.
  • What sets your solution apart? What is your unique selling point (USP)?
  • Describe who uses your solution. Specify your target groups (e.g., young mothers, children, unemployed) and user base in as much detail as possible.

Digital components and technologies

  • Describe the digital component(s) of your solution, and what technologies your solution involves.
  • How well do the digital components of the solution address the issue?

Team and Motivation

  • Introduce your team, highlighting members' experiences, and governance structure.
  • Do you have an advisory board, mentors, investors?
  • Share your story! Explain your motivation and goals for developing the solution, and what keeps you going.

Impact and Achievements

  • What is the measurable impact of your solution? What milestones have you achieved?
  • Share your success metrics and milestones like number of users, views, or downloads, your partners, countries your solution is active in, etc.
  • Share your impact numbers and detail the measurable impact on your community. Describe how you measure it.
  • Describe your future plans and milestones. What comes next in terms of development of your solution, access to new markets, funding, new technologies or services, etc.

Sustainability and Business Model

  • How do you sustain your business financially now and in the long term?
  • Share details about your business and revenue model.

  • Please share some information if and how the jury members can test your solution. Provide login data/download links/tutorials etc.
