Shufola combines localized weather forecast with specific crop management practice to generate highly customized actionable advice for individual smallholder farmers. It automatically cross-references downscaled and high-resolution weather forecast from the WRF model and Automatic Weather Station (AWS) data with expert validated agro-advisories which is sensitive to crop growth stage. Then it pushes advice through SMS and voice message to registered farmers’ mobile phone. Their service combines all relevant domains that typically work in silos and take advantage of widespread mobile technology for dissemination.
