active agents for positive social change through data, technology and innovative
thinking. OpenUp tools include “My Vote Counts,” a data explorer
created to help journalists navigate political party funding; “Open Gazettes,”
the largest free online source of government gazettes;
“Vulekamali,” enabling citizens to learn about government finances and
join informed discussions in policy areas; “Living Wage,” a research-based
calculator showing the basic expenses on which domestic workers spend
their limited salary. OpenUp addresses inequality by supporting an active
citizenry and helps communities and governments work better, together.
