Rayouf Alhumedhi is a 16-year-old Saudi student, residing in Vienna, Austria. She takes a keen interest in issues concerning social equality and became interested in emoji after trying to find an image to represent her - a hijabi. This is what led her to contact and write a proposal to Apple and Google to include such an emoji, for the sake of representation and recognition of Muslim hijabi women in tech.
